Operations Officer

Pure Grow Africa is looking for its Operations Officer, based in Kampala. Your role will be to manage the operations during your shift (day/night shifts), ensuring efficiency and smooth processes. You will be responsible to organize, supervise and involve yourself in receiving produce, sorting, cleaning, packing and storage. You will coordinate with the Procurement team to ensure in-time supplies. Your success will mainly be mesured by the satisfaction of customers (quality, quantity, consistency, in-time deliveries), the efficiency of the teams involved in your department and by the respect of processes in place (quality standards, health and safety regulations …).  

Your duties :

• Ensure that receiving, production and dispatch processes run reliably and efficiently. Record all supplies, deliveries, and manage loss prevention and product quality while maintaining an adequate inventory level.
• Manage schedules of the different teams to optimize operations, Manpower supervision
• Housekeeping in line with the standards of the Company, Consumables Management
• Ensure adequate maintenance of equipment, displays and work area (general cleanliness of the department), in line with the standards of the Company
• Keep control on costs related to Operations, to ensure the profitability of the department
• Fill all the required documentation linked to the daily company activity
• Provide customer assistance as necessary,
• Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures
• Provide regular reports to Management

Requirements

• At Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) from reputable university in Food production, Logistics or Business related field
• At least 3 years experience in related industry
• Good understanding of the dynamics of the agri-business sector
• Good analysis and planning skills
• Quality and Result oriented. Hard-worker, problem-solver
• Excellent leadership and management skills. Capability to conduct staff trainings.
• Organised, precise and meticulous
• Team spirit, willing to take on challenges, strong involvement, flexibility (day/night shifts)
• Full command of office software (Microsoft Office, Mail)
